Digital Lab Manager - CCOFS Digital Lab (Blakeney)

The Digital Lab Manager is responsible for management of the lab's data collection, data input, surgical planning process, case approval process, post processing, lab safety, and lab quality system. The manager will also manage all lab members to ensure a well-organized, well trained, and proficient team. The manager may assist in clinical and non-clinical duties within a broad scope oral surgery practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understands and willing to learn basic dental terms - effectively communicate with others within the lab.
  • Understands and willing to learn basic dental implant planning parameters.
  • Understands and willing to learn basic CBCT dental anatomy and landmarks.
  • Understands and willing to learn Dental Implant Planning software.
  • Cloud based digital workflows, processing, and QC of digital scans.
  • Manage Additive Manufacturing equipment.
  • Manages additive production software.
  • Manages and processes additive manufacturing work orders.
  • Contributes to our Team. Represents and takes responsibility for all that we stand for and trying to achieve our values, goals, and customer service objectives.
  • Lab-Slip/RX comprehension - restoration type, due date, manufacturing process.
  • Familiar/comfortable with dental software/hardware.
  • Time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines, while consistently producing quality restorations.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Implant Case and Surgical Guide Design Management:
    • Reviews Envisions full arch and single implant order forms daily.
    • Utilizes dental software to design implant cases for surgeons.
    • Assists surgeons with implant placement at an ideal location.
    • Track and stores implant data for cost reports and analysis.
    • Reviews dental implant software for workflow comparisons and benchmarking.
    • Quality checks each guide for occlusal fit and sleeve calibration.
  • 3D Printer Maintenances and Care:
    • Keeps detailed inventory of resin levels.
    • Adjust printers and resin as needed.
    • Troubleshoots printer malfunctions and tracks printer use.
  • Surgical Guide Lab Processing:
    • Keeps a detailed inventory of sleeve and pin stock and create purchase orders when needed.
    • Ensures all stacked guides fit together the day before surgery.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in treatment planning
  • Dental Implant experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of sterilization principles required
  • CPR certification required
  • NC dental x-ray certification (preferred)
  • Oral and Maxillofacial surgery experience (preferred)
