We are pleased to welcome Michelle Humrickhouse, MHA, BSN, RN CNOR to the Flagship team as OR Administrator. Positioned to support across our organization while based in Greenville, she will lead efforts to build our OR operations playbook which will serve as our foundation for future expansion and growth opportunities, as well as our ongoing commitments to compliance, standardization, and our patient-centric care model. Additionally, she will support our clinical teams through training and additional resources to allow for efficient throughput, maximized schedules, and enhanced patient experience. Working collaboratively with our doctors, surgery coordinators, and clinical management team, Michelle will mirror the best practices created and established by the clinical team at CCOFS – Blakeney, identify opportunities for growth, and enhance efficiency through process improvement and training support.
Originally from Northwest Indiana, Michelle and her husband moved to South Carolina in 2006. Serving as a perioperative nurse for 27 years, she received her undergraduate studies from Purdue University and her Master’s in Healthcare Administration from LSU. Before moving to Greenville, she played a vital support role in opening a new, privately owned Orthopedic Specialty Hospital, OrthoIndy, outside of Indianapolis in 2004. While practicing in Greenville in 2007, she was instrumental in opening Patewood Memorial Hospital, a free-standing elective surgical facility affiliated with Prisma Health. Over the next ten years, Michelle helped facilitate the expansion of Patewood Memorial from a four to an eight- operating-room facility alongside a vast multi-disciplinary team that collaborated in its success. From there, she oversaw five departments: pre-assessment, pre-op, surgery, post-anesthesia care unit, and central sterile processing. Her years of experience and input were essential in obtaining the many distinctions and certifications received for the hospital, including ANCC Pathway to Excellence, Total Joint Centers of Excellence, and The Joint Commission Disease-Specific Care Certification for Hip/Knee and Shoulders.
