Digital Lab Technician I (T1) - DigiSmiles

The Digital Lab Technician I's primary responsibility is to assist in the surgical planning of regular implant cases, insurance model design, shipping, and surgical guide manufacturing. The Digital Lab technician (T1) will utilize software on a day-to-day basis to plan cases in Codiagnostix, Meshmixer, Asiga Composer, and PreForm. The T1 will also spend part of their time post processing guides. When needed, the T1 may assist in clinical and non-clinical duties within a broad scope oral surgery practice at the direction of a doctor and/or clinical staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produces high-quality treatment plans/designs that meet doctors' specifications every time.
  • Conducts printer maintenance, lab cleaning, full arch planning, and insurance model design.
  • Understands and willing to learn basic dental terms - effectively communicates to others within the lab.
  • Understands and willing to learn basic dental implant planning parameters.
  • Understands and willing to learn basic CBCT dental anatomy and landmarks.
  • Understands and willing to learn Dental Implant Planning software.
  • Cloud based digital workflows, processing, and QC of digital scans.
  • Proficient with Additive Manufacturing equipment.
  • Manages additive production software.
  • Manages and processes additive manufacturing, work orders.
  • Contributes to our team. Represents and takes responsibility of all that we stand for and trying to achieve our values, goals, and customer service objectives.
  • Lab-Slip/RX comprehension - restoration type, due date, manufacturing process.
  • Familiar/comfortable with dental software/hardware.
  • Time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines, while consistently producing quality restorations.
  • Excellent computer skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated understanding of sterilization principles
  • CPR certification
  • Experience in treatment planning
  • Dental Implant experience
  • Oral and Maxillofacial surgery experience (preferred)
  • NC dental x-ray certification (preferred)
