The Patient Care Coordinator - Lead role has primary responsibilities for this position include planning, organizing and directing front office administrative functions within a specific office location. Provides assistance to the practice manager/administrator when not available. Oversees the patient care workflow for administrative and medical staff to ensure the optimum patient experience. Oversees the scheduling of established patient visits and answer questions, including billing and preparation. Provides first level administrative support for any patient related escalations.

Here are some of the job duties you will perform:

  • Manages and directs Patient Care Coordinators' daily and weekly work
  • Manages time for Patient Care Coordinators I and II.
  • Follows up with patients regarding their benefits and/or co-pays and coverage information for all outpatient procedures.
  • Assures timely response to third party payers requests for additional information.
  • Ensures the new patient expectations are set.
  • Exemplifies high-quality customer oriented behavior and phone etiquette.
  • Participates in ongoing training and optimization for all administrative applications used.
  • Exhibits outstanding customer service with the patient as #1 priority; at the request of the Regional Director of Operations, doctor, COO, assists providers in the timely and successful resolution of the non-clinical aspects of patient complaints, concerns, and questions (all clinical aspects of patient complaints must be referred to the treating provider for resolution.
  • Carries out the directions of the provider on such matters as they direct.)
  • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, work effectively and evaluates competing priorities at an efficient pace.

To be considered for this role, you need to have the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-3 years leading/managing experience with direct customer/ patient contact.
  • Experience as a patient care/medical office coordinator with patient scheduling, insurance verification and billing & collection experience.
  • Proven ability to access, input, and retrieve information using a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Office products and practice management/EMR systems.
