Dr. Brian Farrell

Dr. Farrell’s experience in orthognathic surgery has allowed him to lecture across the country about safe and efficient jaw surgery techniques.

Today, Dr. Farrell continues his dedication to learning and sharing his experience and insights by lecturing throughout the country on orthognathic surgery and techniques for providing safe efficient corrective jaw surgery in an outpatient setting.

As a member of the team at the Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery, Dr. Farrell performs orthognathic surgery, bone grafting and dental implants, and facial cosmetic surgery, as well as other procedures. As a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, he has co-authored multiple articles and chapters covering dental and facial deformities and outpatient orthognathic surgery.

Dr. Teresa Biggerstaff

Advanced Oral and Facial Surgery of the Triad

Dr. Biggerstaff has lived in Kernersville since the completion of her residency. She relocated to the area after Hurricane Katrina which displaced her to North Carolina during her residency training in New Orleans. She completed a facial cosmetic surgery fellowship in Greensboro prior to joining a private practice in Winston-Salem. After 4 years in Winston-Salem, she is happy to now be serving the community of Kernersville full time.

Dr. Jim Howell

Board-certified oral surgeon Dr. Howell leads the Greenville office at Carolinas Center for Dental Implants.

From Anchorage, Alaska, to his hometown of Greenville, South Carolina, board-certified oral surgeon Dr. Jim W. Howell has seen patients in new and familiar frontiers.

Dr. Howell earned his Business degree with an emphasis in Marketing from Clemson University in 2002. In 2007, he graduated with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. As a general dentist for 2 years, he also worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Florida’s College of Dental Medicine.

In 2009, he returned to MUSC for his oral and maxillofacial residency. His career took him to Anchorage, Alaska, where he held various teaching appointments as an oral surgeon with the NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine’s partnership with the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) in Juneau, AK.

Dr. Horton is an extensively trained and recognized prosthodontist who leads the prosthodontics team at Envision Dental Implant Centers.

Dr. Christopher Abernathy

North Carolina native Dr. Abernathy specializes in wisdom teeth removal, complex dental implant and bone reconstruction, BOTOX® and injectable fillers, corrective jaw surgery, and TMJ surgery.

As part of the family at Carolinas Center for Oral and Facial Surgery, Dr. Abernathy has continued his professional education in many ways. He has particular passions for his surgical mission work both in the United States and abroad. Although a full scope trained and Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, has particular concentrations and enhanced training in Wisdom Teeth, Dental Implants, bone grafting, TMJ surgery, and Cosmetics.

Dr. Matthew Pham

Associates in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, PA

Dr. Pham is a dual-degree oral and maxillofacial surgeon at the Columbia office. He has a special interest in corrective jaw surgery, dental implants, and facial trauma.

Dr. Pham grew up in the Northeast outside of Philadelphia. His educational path began with a focus on art and biology at the University of Pittsburgh. After spending time working at an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice, he found a strong interest in trauma and jaw surgery.

Dr. Pham enjoys the combination of art and medicine in broad-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery. Being able to correct facial proportions and restore functions through surgery is the most fulfilling part of working with his patients. He looks forward to providing the Columbia area with his knowledge and experience.
